Final round of public drop-in events for bus franchising consultation
A final round of public drop-in events is being held for anyone who would still like the opportunity to take part in the bus franchising consultation face-to-face.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has been hosting a series of drop-ins around the region during September and October and is now announcing the last few to ensure as many people as possible can meet the consultation team.
Events have been happening in a variety of busy places where people catch the bus including town centre shopping areas and bus stations, and in locations such as Huntingdon, Ely, Peterborough, Northstowe, Wisbech and Cambridge. They have been held to coincide with popular travelling times in the day.
The final round will include events on Friday 18 October at Cambridge North Station and at two different locations within the grounds of Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge:
- 9am to 11am: Cambridge North Station, Cowley Road, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB4 0AE
- 12noon to 2pm: Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre Atrium, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Robinson Way, Cambridge CB2 0SL
- 3pm to 5pm: Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 0QQ (main campus bus stop by the Hills Road entrance)
There will also be two events in St Neots on November 7th:
- 10:30am to 12:30pm St Neots Market Square, St. Neots. PE19 2AF (next to the market stalls)
- 12:30pm to 2:30pm St Neots Market Square, St. Neots. PE19 2AF (next to the bus stops)
Chief Executive of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, Rob Bridge, said: “This final round of events will be the last opportunity for you to have your say in person before the consultation closes, so please don’t miss out. There’s still time to make your voice heard and we’re here to help if you have any questions.”
Running until 20 November 2024, the consultation will inform a decision by the Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough on how to reform buses across the area.
If people can’t attend a drop-in event, there are other ways to participate:
- Paper copies or large print versions of the consultation documents are available as well as copies in Polish, Lithuanian, Portuguese and Urdu.
- People can also print out the consultation documents and post their response. They can call 01480 277180 to receive a FREEPOST envelope. All survey returns to the following address: Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Bus Franchising Consultation, 2nd Floor, Pathfinder House, St Mary’s Street, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE29 3TN
